STILO 60 RPT series 2-chamber transparent polycarbonate roof in standard matt grey lacquered finish
27 March, 2026When we think about replacing windows, we often look at the color or how much we will save on heating. However, there is a factor that often goes unnoticed until it is too late: security. In Carpintería Aluminio Ponsico, we know that a window is not only a light opening, it is the main barrier of your home. Here we explain what elements turn an aluminum window into an aesthetic “bunker” against intruders.
1. Hardware: The heart of security
Not all locks are the same. For real security, we recommend perimeter hardware systems.
- Mushroom” type locking points: Unlike flat locks, these are hooked into the frame so that it is almost impossible to leverage the sash from the outside.
- Reinforced fasteners: We install multiple anchor points around the perimeter of the window, not just in the center.
Laminated safety glass
The glass is the most visually vulnerable point. To avoid breakage, the solution is laminated glass (climalit safety glass).
How does it work? They are two or more panes of glass joined by a PVB (polyvinyl butyral) film. If someone tries to hit it, the glass cracks but does not break or come off, keeping the physical barrier intact.
3. Self-locking shutters: The perfect complement
If you want extra peace of mind, especially in first floors or villas, self-locking extruded aluminum louvers are the key.
- Their design means that if someone tries to force them up from the outside, the slats block each other.
- They work like an invisible fence, but with the advantage that you can pick them up completely to enjoy the view.
4. Handles with key or button
A simple but effective detail. The locking handles prevent someone from reaching in and turning the handle to open the window, even if a small piece of glass breaks.
Conclusion: Your peace of mind is priceless
